When we’re stressed or anxious, it is very helpful to meditate and find some inner peace. However, meditation can function as more than just a temporary oasis of peace in a tumultuous world. Through Buddhist meditation, we can learn to control our mind so we can determine how we experience the external world. This is the opposite of letting the uncontrollable external world determine our inner experience. Through learning to harness our mind, we can choose more joyful and peaceful experiences all the time no matter what arises externally.
