Freeing Ourselves From Anxiety

Take back your mind, your time and your life.

Is it possible to find peace in a world that is chaotic, unpredictable and beyond our control? YES! The one thing you can control is your response to the world you experience. Many of us feel overwhelmed by the stress of daily life. Meditation is the solution. As your mind becomes clear and peaceful, you will gain the ability to remain calm and positive even when confronted with the most difficult situations. This class will kick off as a Sunday Special Event on September 8, and continue with a three-class series. Free for members / $15 non-members

Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary. Register in advance OR pay at the door.

How to be Kind to Yourself

Judging yourself harshly is a useless and destructive habit that does not help you change or improve in any way. Instead, you can develop your natural potential by discovering a deep appreciation for yourself. You can adopt a radical form of patience—accepting yourself without any reservation. By nurturing this potential day-by-day, you can become the relaxed person you always wanted to be — appreciating your good qualities and encouraging others. Free for members / $15 non-members

Meditation For Improving Our Relationships

We all want to improve our relationships. To accomplish this, we need to focus not just on how we relate to others, but how we relate to ourselves. Looking inwards through the practice of meditation, we can alleviate our anxiety, anger and attachment—and improve our relationships from the inside out. Free for members / $10 suggested donation non-members

Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.

Motivation for Meditation

Meditate every day. It’s simply stated but difficult to do, even for experienced practitioners. This class will help us overcome our obstacles – including those we create in our own minds. Increase your understanding of how the mind works and get practical tips on motivation, time management and concentration. This class is offered weekly, but please check our calendar for occasional cancellations. Free for members / $15 non-members

Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.

Dealing with Loss and Change

Losing what we love and dealing with unwanted change is part of life—and it often hurts. We tend to feel that relationships, jobs, possessions and other externals will give us the lasting pleasure, comfort and security we crave. However, genuine happiness comes from an entirely different source. Kadam Matthew will explain methods for truly enjoying life, regardless of its ups and downs. We will learn to develop a mental resilience that will keep us happy and peaceful even through life’s biggest challenges—and enable us to help those we love. Free for members / $15 non-members

Please note: This series will end on September 19. On Thursday, September 26, join us for a Special Event with Gen Kelsang Sherab, Buddhist monk and meditation teacher at Compassion Kadampa Meditation Center in England

Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary. Register in advance OR pay at the door.
