Meditation and the Power to Change

Teacher: Kadam Matthew Riechers
A mind that’s peaceful, clear and effective. Anyone can achieve this goal, and the Buddha’s teachings on meditation are the method. They provide practical instruction for harnessing and developing key capabilities and functions of the mind that Buddha called ‘mental factors’. By better understanding our minds, we become powerful meditators and enjoy the real benefits of spiritual practice. Class meets January 6, 13 and 20.

The Inner Source of Joy

Our days are too full. Yet our lives can feel empty. When we fail to find satisfaction, we distract ourselves with momentary pleasures, yet happiness still eludes us. Happily, we can end this cycle. By developing wisdom through meditation, we can understand the cycle of dissatisfaction and break it, once and for all. We will find life can be a meaningful and joyful adventure, even amid circumstances we previously found limiting and challenging.

Relying on the book How to Transform Your Life by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, this series will take us into the heart of joyful mind-training practice.
