A day retreat on the profound practice of meditation on our root mind.

Set the day aside to focus on the most important thing in your life – the development of your mind and your good qualities!
How often do we have the opportunity to leave all our worries and concerns behind and absorb our mind completely into the profound inner stillness that comes from deep meditation? Positive results are born from engaging in retreat from time to time, doing one session after another, allowing our mind to become clear and still. It is in this stillness that the deep insights that will transform our reality can develop. The focus of this day retreat will be immersion, so start planning now to spend a full day at VMC deepening your practice!

By gaining confidence in meditating on the clear nature of awareness, we'll begin to gain experience in settling the mind and we can train in tranquil abiding, preparing our mind for a realization of the ultimate nature of reality. This special meditation, known as Mahamudra, is renowned as a special method for gaining deep insight as well as for settling the mind in a state of deep peace.

This retreat is recommended for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in this special meditation in four sessions. Full-day participation is encouraged.

Retreat Schedule

Session 1 • 9 – 10:30 am
Session 2 • 11:30 am – 1 pm
Session 3 • 4 – 5:30 pm
Session 4 • 6:30 – 8 pm


General Information:

  • We are located in Boerum Hill at 444 Atlantic Avenue, between Nevins & Bond Streets – a short walk from most major subway lines!

  • All of our programming is suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners – unless otherwise noted.

  • If offered, pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

  • No special clothing is necessary, and we offer both chairs and cushions for sitting.

  • Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class to sign in and get comfortable. We do our best to start and end on time, and your help is appreciated!
