The Path of Transformation: Becoming a Bodhisattva
Bodhichitta, the wish to realize one's potential in order to benefit others, has been called "the source of peace and happiness for all living beings." Through developing this extraordinary wish, our mind becomes vast and peaceful, filled with love, and our ordinary problems disappear. In this series, we’ll practice special meditations to generate Bodhichitta and learn how we can become modern Bodhisattvas!

Repaying the Kindness of our Mothers: A Very Special Mother's Day Meditation and Discussion
Children, bring your mothers. Mothers, bring your children! Everything we have comes from our Mother. She taught us how to eat, walk, speak, take care of ourselves and engage with others. How can we ever repay such kindness? In this special Mother’s Day class, we’ll examine a remarkable meditation that helps us develop an extraordinary love for all living beings and a wish to repay their kindness. It’s a meditation that begins with recognizing the kindness of our own mother! Join us after class for a group discussion on gratitude and recognizing the kindness we have received.

How to Transform your Life from the Inside Out:
The Practice of the Six Perfections in Daily Life
The six perfections are the practices of a Bodhisattva, a person who wants to realize their full potential in order to benefit others. Buddha called this special intention “the source of peace and happiness for all living beings.” In this series, we will learn to use the practices of the six perfections in our everyday life to transform our experiences. Deep inner happiness is real and attainable. Come learn how to develop it.

Buddhism for Daily Life
Buddhism offers both profound wisdom and deeply practical advice, which means it can improve our daily lives starting today. This weekly, one-hour class is a great way to begin. Each class contains a meditation, practical instruction and time for questions. Each week focuses on a specific topic:
Every 1st Wednesday of the month: Overcoming Attachment and Addiction
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month: Sanity on the Job
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month: Dealing With Stress and Anxiety
Every 4th Wednesday of the month: Transforming Relationships

Motivation for Meditation
Meditate every day. It’s simply stated but difficult to do, even for experienced practitioners. This class will help us overcome our obstacles – including those we create in our own minds. Increase your understanding of how the mind works and get practical tips on motivation, time management and concentration. This class is offered weekly, but please check our calendar for occasional cancellations.

Going Deeper: Getting Better Results in Meditation
We all want to enjoy the natural peace that arises from meditation, but many of us experience meditation as frustrating. Meditation on the pure, clear nature of the mind, or Mahamudra, helps us overcome our distractions, enabling us to settle our minds like a still ocean, blissful and at peace. This stillness, and the insights that naturally arise from this special meditation, are of tremendous help to those wishing to become expert meditators. When our mind is settled and at ease we can accomplish whatever we wish.

We are located in Boerum Hill at 444 Atlantic Avenue, between Nevins & Bond Streets – a short walk from most major subway lines!
Weekly guided meditations and Buddhist teachings are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners.
Each class is self contained and pre-registration is not required. Some general meditation classes are given as a series, but can also be taken individually. Although it’s most beneficial to engage in the whole series, you're welcome to drop in on a class-by-class basis.
Classes are held every week unless otherwise noted.
No special clothing is necessary, and we offer both chairs and cushions for sitting.
Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class to sign in and get comfortable. We do our best to start and end on time, and your help is appreciated!
