April 15th is Buddha's Enlightenment Day. Every year we celebrate this event with the traditional two-day fasting purification practice known as Nyungne, using the practice known as Drop of Essential Nectar.

During this practice we emphasize compassion, the very heart of enlightenment, by engaging in prostrations to 1,000-Armed Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.

Both days will begin with the taking of the eight Mahayana precepts at 7:00 am. There will be three sessions each day: 7:00 am, 10:30 am and 3:30 pm Friday/3:00 pm Saturday.

You can only attend the sessions if you have taken the precepts that morning. After, you can attend as few, or as many, of the remaining sessions for the rest of the day as you wish.

Everyone Welcome.
