The Path of Transformation: Becoming a Bodhisattva

Once we realize that the wish to benefit others is the key to our own happiness, we simply can’t wait to develop it. In the Buddhist tradition, this wish is called Bodhichitta—the aspiration to fully realize one's potential in order to help others. When we have this aspiration, our perspective shifts. We are filled with love, our mind becomes vast and peaceful and our ordinary problems disappear. In this series, we will rely on The Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life by the eighth century Bodhisattva Shantideva. The Guide is an extraordinary spiritual poem that has been helping Buddhist practitioners for centuries. We will learn and practice meditations that enable us to generate Bodhichitta. Through this we will become joyful, confident people—truly a resource for others.

Solving Our Problems Through Wisdom

The Buddha’s teachings on the true nature of reality, or emptiness, are radically positive and liberating. But they are also easily misunderstood. A clear understanding of emptiness is the key to experiencing a life that’s deeply meaningful, peaceful and joyful. This series guides us toward that understanding and helps us deepen it through meditation.
