The Fine Art of Following Through
Using the Practice of the Five Forces to Bring your Resolutions to Life
Four Mondays, January 5 - 26
Time and again, we make resolutions, promises to ourselves. We set goals, make promises to change, to improve, to accomplish... but before long, we have drifted back into our old patterns, allowing them to dictate our direction once again, drawing us back into destructive and self-defeating behaviors.
So how can we sustain the inspiration that gave rise to these resolutions in the first place? How can we use our spiritual practice to create the change we want to see in our lives?
In his Training the Mind teachings, Buddha taught a special method designed to enable us to bring our internal resources to bear upon the accomplishment of a particular goal. This powerful method, called the Five Forces, can ensure that we see our goal through to completion, building confidence in our ability to effect change in our own lives.
Come listen to Buddha's practical and profound advice on following through, and bring your vision of yourself into reality in the new year!

Love without Pain
with Matthew Riechers
January 1, 8 & 15
Too often our experience of love and of living with loved ones leads to pain and suffering. It seems as if that which brings us most happiness also brings the most intense and deepest sorrow.
The teachings of Buddha demonstrate a series of insights and methods which enable us to cultivate a deeply heartfelt love that never leads to suffering. Through a skillful combination of talks, meditative exercises, and discussion, Matthew will guide us to understand how we can love without pain. |

Learning to Enjoy our Meditation Practice
with Matthew Riechers
Deepening our meditation practice comes through enjoyment. Are we enjoying our practice, or do we find it to be like a chore, something we feel we should do, but perhaps aren't inclined to? Do we feel we know how to meditate? Are we confident in our practice, or unsure of what we are supposed to be doing?
Join us on Sunday mornings as we examine our meditation practice and learn to deeply enjoy the process of transforming our minds. Each class will focus on meditation on the Stages of the Path, and we will also learn to confidently engage in the preliminary prayers for meditation, connecting to the enlightened energy that will nourish and sustain our meditation.
